African safari holidays

If you are thinking that it is time to plan a major family holiday, and if any of your children were fans of the movie, “The Lion King,” then an African family safari can be an adventure that the whole group can enjoy. However, you will have to seek out an African safari tour operation that has both the experience and the inclination to cater to family safaris.

Some of the family-friendly services that are offered by African safari tour companies are baby-sitting, special menus to appeal to the kids, and specially trained guides for the family. Some family safaris will even make arrangements to have special children’s activities, such as a bush treasure hunt, African-inspired crafts like bead-making, or bedtime stories told by authentic African storytellers.

Certainly, there are parents who worry about taking their children into areas where they have an increased chance of contracting a disease, such as malaria. But, there are a number of game reserves in South Africa which are considered safe. Another viable option is taking a “road trip” on well-kept roads in Namibia or South Africa, and enjoying a less structured type of family safari.

One of the challenges that parents might encounter during a safari is convincing a youngster, who loves to cuddle up with his favorite stuffed lion at home, that the mother lion preening her cubs cannot be petted or even approached. This can be one of the more difficult things to get across, especially for children who have never been on wildlife safaris.

Even with the challenges that are bound to come up, a safari for families is not only possible, but also great fun. As long as family wildlife safaris are undertaken safely and are conducted under the watchful supervision of an experienced safari guide, who knows how to handle and cater to the children in the group, they can be an experience that will provide lifelong memories.

Many parents who have never considered taking African safari holidays with their children in tow might be surprised to learn that family safaris are one of the most popular types of vacations for children, from the ages of four to eighteen. There are many African safari tour operators, African tourist bureaus, and adventuresome parents who have successfully undertaken various Africa safaris with their children and claim that is was the experience of a lifetime for the entire family.

When parents spend a bit of time upfront in choosing the family safari destination and in selecting the safari travel guide they will be depending on, the likelihood is excellent that the vacation will be a grand success for everyone. If you have friends or acquaintances who have been on a safari for the whole family, then ask them for their insights and for contact information of the safari guide they would recommend.

Italy has always been one of the most popular destinations in Europe. Here are some quick how to tips for Italy

Tips for Italy

Avoid the peak tourist season June through September; either side will give you still great weather and a better chance of seeing the attractions without the queues and crowds.

Packing light is key to easy trip. One small bag that you can easy carry yourself on and off planes, trains and up and down stairs will give you a lot more freedom. Don’t expect every hotel to have an elevator - they don’t.

The majority of long-distance fights arrive either in Roma or Milano: you will get the best priced airfare to these airports. You may get a better over-all cost looking for a cheap flight into London or Amsterdam and then connecting on to Italy using a local European budget airline such as EasyJet or Ryan Air.

If you do use a low cost airline check how far out of town the airport they are using is and how much it will cost you to get back into town. Few of the cheaper airports will be as convenient as Rome’s Fumcino airport where you can catch the Leonardo Express train to Rome’s Termini Station for Euro11

Don’t worry about not speaking Italian - if you speak French or Spanish you won’t have a lot of problem. Even if you don’t patience, acting, sign language and a sense of humor will get you a long way.

Train Travel. If you are going to use the Eurail pass for discounted train travel within Europe you need to purchase your pass before leaving home. Do you figures carefully though, many of the passes are not good value unless you are traveling from one end of Europe to the other. Also if you are over 26 you will have to travel first class on an Eurail pass while second class is comfortable and available for tickets bought in Italy.

Italy has a fairly low rate of crime. Be careful of pickpockets in major cities but there is probably less violent crime than in your home town. Be aware of your surroundings in large train stations and popular tourist sites. The Romans never carry a bag slung over a shoulder but hung diagonally across the body - and you should too.

Enjoy your Italian vacation: hopefully these Italy vacation tips have helped

The city of Carlisle is the largest of all settlements that you will find in Cumbria, England. The building has many different functions: it houses the administration for both the city of Carlisle and the entire county of Cumbria. It is also the host for the University of Cumria’s main campus. Carlisle vacations are ideal for those who would like to discover more about this historic city.

It’s really easy to get to Carlisle from almost anywhere in the UK. The city is well linked with the rest of the country. The M6 motorway provides easy access to the South of England whilst the M74 motorway provides good links with Scotland. However, actually getting around the city itself in a car can prove quite eventful especially when the rush hours are in full flow.

If you’re not going to drive to the city, then there are plenty of regular train services that are direct to the railway station. Trains not only arrive from London, but also from Newcastle, Leeds and Glasgow. That said, the line from Glasgow actually travels through Dumfries on its journey.

When you actually arrive in the city for your vacation, there is plenty of things for one to do and see whilst staying there. Carlisle is famous for both it’s castle and the cathedral.

Since it was built over nine hundred years ago, the castle has marked the western edge of the city and is close to the border between England and Scotland. It has witnessed many conflicts and even been subject to the occasional siege. Today, these are but memories as you tour the dungeons, stairways and chambers. It is in the dungeons you will discover the legendary “Licking Stones” that the thirsty Jacobite prisoners which were being held in them would lick desperately to obtain moisture to help them stay alive.

Carlisle cathedral dominates the city’s sky line and can be seen from almost anywhere in the city, which has been the case since it was founded in 1122 AD. The crypt’s decoration is exquisite. If you take the time to actually go into the crypy, you’ll be greeted by a display that covers over a thousand years of Christian history throughout Cumbria.

However, if you are looking for a little more excitement when visiting Carlisle then a day or an evening at the races should be considered. The racecourse is located on the outskirts of the town and is set in beautiful countryside and this is why the course undulates somewhat. Throughout the year top quality horse racing events take place with the National Hunt ones taking place between September and April and the flat races taking place between April and August.

Carlisle vacations are ideal for those who are looking for a quiet romantic time away with their partner. But they are also the place for families who are looking for a little adventure and fun during their Carlisle holiday.

England is wonderful and exciting country in which to spend a little time. It has a great many visitor attractions well worth visiting perfectly suited for all tastes. For instance|One such place is the historical city of York which dates back to the times of the Roman Empire, Torquay (often called the English Riviera) and Liverpool (European City of Culture 2008). One of the most famous, and interesting, places to spend some time in is London the capital city of the United Kingdom of Britain

London is an amazing place to visit, either just for a weekend or, hopefully for a full vacation. You may be surprised at how many people who reside in the United Kingdom who have not yet visited London, even more surprising when you ponder on the fact it is usually top of the majority of visitors lists (of the most enjoyable places they went to).

There is simply so much to see and do in London that it is not possible to list them all all in one go. Surprisingly one of the newest attractions in London also happens to be one of the most popular - The London Eye. Another popular attraction nearby to the London Eye is the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. However, one place which must not be missed is Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace is England’s most widely known Royal residence, maybe because it is home to the Queen. Buckingham Palace is positioned in the center of London which makes it a natural focus for visitors. The daily pageant of ‘Changing of the Guard’ is incredibly fascinating to witness and ever so English.

Buckingham Palace was originally known as Buckingham House. It was originally a large town house, constructed in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham. It is actually the townhouse that forms the main core of the palace as we know it today.

Over the subsequent three quarters of a century Buckingham House was enlarged by the construction of 3 wings forming a central courtyard. The main architects responsible for these constructions were John Nash and Edward Blore. It was also John Nash who was responsible for the interior design of the monumental staterooms.

The famous architect Aston Webb was responsible for the building of the principal facade of Buckingham Palace which he re-designed in 1912. Webb along with Sir Thomas Brock (the sculptor) were the winners of a competition to design a memorial to Queen Victoria. This memorial can still be today.

The Queen has various other royal residences besides Buckingham Palace. Annually the Queen spends Christmas at Sandringham House in Norfolk. Sandringham House is privately owned by the Queen (a private royal residence).

Another private residence is Balmoral Castle, situated in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. The Queen was staying in Balmoral Castle when she was told about the untimely accident involving Diana (the ex-wife of Prince Charles).

If you would like to take a break in the United Kingdom you may be surprised to learn that it is possible to find cheap hotels in London without any great difficulty, on the other hand you may want to stay in more luxurious surroundings and the fine selection of boutique hotels in London should be more than satisfactory.

Packing for vacation scares many people. Packing for your vacation is such a drag :you just want to be whisked away direct to your destination: no packing involved! Unfortunately this happy state of affairs hasn’t happened to me yet so here are my top 5 vacation packing tips.

Vacation Packing Tip#1; If you “might” need it don’t take it.
If you are taking something “just in case” or because you “might need it” - leave the item at home. I have travelled for far too many years, and never recal actually using any of those “just in case” packed items.

Vacation Packing Tip#2 Put all your Must Have Items on the Bed
Take a real hard look. Then select the half that is most important to pack :put the rest back in the cupboard: you may have the right amount of stuff. If you are still not convinced pack up all your “must haves” and take them for a good long walk, I think you will agree with me now?

Vacation Packing Tip#3 Don’t take specialist clothing
Don’t take any item of clothing that won’t do duel use. If you need a sleep shirt take something that you can sleep in and either use as a beach cover up or as a silky evening top. I have had tankini’s with tops that doubled as a an evening top (bra included too nice!).

Vacation Packing Tip#4 Don’t take Denim
Denim is never the answer. Its bulky, its hard to clean, it takes forever to dry and it has a certain reputation which will still get you turned away from clubs if you are wearing denim. Leave it at home

Vacation Packing Tip#5 Don’t take the Medicine Cabinet
Take a bare minimum of drugs with you. You can buy almost anything you need at almost any location: there is no point being kitted out with 6 months supply of cold remedies if you are off for 10 days at the beach: and don’t have a cold Take any prescribed medicines you need but also take their name and their generic equivalent; you may well find what requires a prescription at home you can get over the counter for a fraction of the cost in many countries.

You can’t afford a luxury trip to Paris? There are options, here are some tips on getting more value for your dollar.

The single most important thing for a cost-effective vacation is pick you time. Times to avoid in Paris: Christmas, September/October when there are large trade shows. Do you want to splurg on a 5 star hotel? Rates are often cheaper at weekends and particularly in August, when the locals abandon Paris.

Try to time your departure so that you leave late at night having had a full day in Paris: your hotel will hold your luggage even if you have to check out in the morning. An extra day in Paris and no hotel expenses, perfect! Sleep on the plane its the best thing to do on them.

Don’t go alone: preferably take a couple of friends and share a room: you will normally pay the same for two adults as one and the third person is much less than half the tarrif for two.

Don’t hire a car . Don't waste your money hiring a car in Paris. The city is very walkable and the underground Metro is often faster than a taxi in rush hour. If you are hiring an auto for the remainder of your vacation, arrange it so that your hire period begins as you say au revoir to Paris.

Use an on-line travel search site to find the best hotel prices. Don’t just book with the first site you find though. Try five or six especially if you are looking for smaller, boutique hotels. Not all travel websites list all hotels.

Remember that many attractions including museums close one day a week: usually early in the week. If you are in town for those two days then double check which days your “must see” sites are open to avoid disappointment.

Don’t use taxis to hop around town: use the Metro for longer trips or walk: Paris is one of the most walkable cities in the world and most of the major sights and shopping areas are within easy walking distance.

A new development in inner city transport is the Vélib program (”vélo Liberté” or Freedom Bikes) by which it is possible to rent a bike for a very modest price. The first 30 minutes is free (plus a Euro1 daily fee payable by credit card) and prices rise raipidly for longer rental: designed to encourage you to drop off the bike and pick up a new one as you require: what a great reason to stop at cafe or two…

Paris is a wonderful city and who doesn’t want to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Musse d’Orsay, Notre Dame Church. Make sure you make the effort to make it to top stared restaraunt at least once on your visit.

Choose a Paris Luxury Hotel for your next European vacation and really see a different side of that wonderful city. A central Paris hotel will help you spend most of your time in the city of romance not commuting from a remote suburb. Selecting the right Paris hotel or appartment can make a real difference to your trip: and give you lifelong memories.

It’s one thing to employ proper headlice treatments when an outbreak occurs, but what about the cleanup? As with most pests, head lice cannot survive extreme heat. So, the best course of action in cleaning them out of your home is to dry everything that you can fit into your clothes dryer. This is great for stuffed animals, rag dolls, bedding, pillows, all sorts of clothing including towels, washcloths, etc. A timed cycle of around 15-30 minutes should do the trick.

I’m sure you have heard the suggestion that putting your clothing or stuffed animals into sealed plastic bags will suffocate head lice. This is not the case. More likely, by putting them into plastic bags the lice die of starvation. But there is a chance that doing this will not kill the lice and therefore a re-infestation can occur. This is not the case with putting articles into a high heat dryer for 30 minutes.

Obviously not everything will fit in your dryer. So, for things like carpeting and furniture, it’s best to vacuum everything thoroughly. Be sure to throw away the vacuum bag inside a sealed garbage sack, or empty the debris container for bagless vacuums, and remove it completely from your house. An outside garbage can is best.

There is no need to vacuum for 30 minutes in one concentrated area of course. A few times over the area will do fine.

You may also want to try creating your own “natural” repellent spray that can be made by using an average sized plastic spray bottle with about 20 drops of 100% Tea Tree Oil and water. Lice, among other pests such as ticks and mosquitoes, do not like the smell of Tea Tree Oil, and so it is a terrific choice for a repellent.

Once you have your mixture, simply begin spraying it on your furniture and carpeting. You needn’t over-spray and completely saturate your furniture. Lightly spraying will do the trick.

Of course, while this guide is for “natural” remedies, if you still feel unsafe about the conditions of your household items where lice can survive for a few days, then you can use a de-licing spray. But this is solely at your discretion. Vacuuming should work just as well. I hope these tips will help you in the future should you find an outbreak in your family.

Cardiff is the capital city of Wales and is a great place to stay - not just for visiting places where the television series Dr Who was filmed or for when you watch rugby.

If you're a fan of history then you definitely have to visit the historic site of Cardiff castle. A guided tour of Cardiff castle ought to be well up on your "to do" list. The location can trace its roots back to medieval days although in more recent times you may well be visiting to be part of the audience for a rock concert or possibly the Welsh version of Mardi Gras.

Cardiff is a regular host for the Welsh National Eisteddfod. Every other year, opera fans from all over the world flock to the city for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World event. Not to mention the 250,000 or so people who go to the Big Weekend Festival, which has rides and other attractions in abundance. Cardiff's free outdoor festival is ideal for those people travelling to Cardiff on a budget.

Between them, Capitol Centre, St David's Centre and Queen's Arcade are the three main shopping arcades in the City. These three centres cater for almost every need: there are national department stores as well as smaller local shops that you'll only find in Cardiff. There are also plenty of other shopping opportunities to be found in Cardiff, including a number of shopping centres that date back to Victorian days, so others in your party can admire the architecture while you shop until you drop.

If you’re on an overnight stay in Cardiff, you may want to check out the musical scene in the city. There are a wide range of music venues ranging from small clubs and pubs right the way through to big venues. If you're uncertain, begin at the Brewery Quarter and work out from there.

There are plenty of hotels and guest houses in Cardiff, so you’re certain to find somewhere to stay when you visit Cardiff.

Every marriage, not just some marriages, but EVERY marriage has some sort of marriage problems that couples have to deal with. Generally they are minor challenges that can simply be taken care of if the couple will accept the challenges and deal with them.

Here is some typical relationship problems that most couples face that should never lead to the ending of a marriage.

House work differences: I have seen countless couples who have major marriage problems that root from a very straight forward difference about who should be doing what at the house. Yard work, trash, painting, and maintenance are generally thought of as “man’s work” but it doesn’t necessarily have to be that way. Also cooking, cleaning, shopping, and taking care of the kids are considered the “woman’s job”, but again, that is not written in stone. Surely there are stuff that each person does more superior or is more able to do than the other, but that doesn’t mean that individual can’t do one of the other tasks not “specified” for their sex. If this becomes a concern, you should take a seat and talk about it and come to a decision who will do what, if that’s the only way you can settle it. However, I’ve always thought the best rule to go by is “if it needs to be done, just do it”; don’t wait for the “designated” individual to do it.

Trust Issues: It’s imperative to bear in mind that even though you are a married couple you are still two individual people with your individual interests and acquaintances. Just because you are married doesn’t mean you have to stop living. You should not have issues about your spouse spending time with friends outside of your house. Lack of trust will lead to uncertainty and uncertainty will lead to a miserable marriage. Even after being married for some time you may still be amazed about things you find out about your partner. You might want to check out, the 1000 Questions for Couples review to help you learn about your partner you might not by now be familiar with.

Feeling trapped: This is a very classic reaction for couples when they first get married; the lighthearted existence of being on your own has been replaced with household tasks and house work, and a partner you think you have to answer to. These kinds of feelings can lead to resentment and heated arguments. It’s all about setting up your standing inside the marriage and how you fit it outside the house. It can be for the most part hard for young couples who might be the first of their friends to get married. If this challenge is not tackled and dealt with quickly, it can produce more serious marriage problems . If you want to save your marriage and get passed these feelings of being trapped, I highly recommend you read the Mastery Guide to Saving Your Marriage & Stopping Your Divorce Review for some very helpful ideas about how to get through this tough time in your marriage.

Nit-picking: These are those little disagreements that get magnified and cause bigger and deeper arguments. The main challenge here is with pride because neither spouse wants to give in first and apologize. I’ve seen lots of divorces happen due to a tiny disagreement that went way too far. You have to learn to let go of your pride and beware of that saying you’re sorry is an extraordinary event. Some individuals just don’t know how to say they’re sorry; in cases like that, frequently it is best to have couples read The Magic of Making Up review to instruct them the fine art of forgiveness and saying they’re sorry. You know, some of the greatest romantic periods occur after an apology; don’t forget about that.

Marriage is all about give and take; it’s not about who is right and who is wrong. You’re both going to be incorrect at one time or another so remember, if you’re pointing the finger of blame right now, it’s bound to put back on your sooner or later. You should be thinking about the good things and not spending so much on the trivial stuff. You have a long way to go and just because you might see signs of marriage concerns, it doesn’t mean your marriage is doomed.
