Still finding new things on my laptop whooohooo

by The Diva

I’ve had my new laptop for about three weeks now and I’m still exploring everything that’s on it. It certainly came loaded with quite a bit of software … in fact, I think i”ll probably end up taking some of it off the computer after a while if I don’t find that I use it because my new laptop has two hard drives and the operating system seems to be installed on the smaller hard drive which means everything so far is getting installed on that hard drive so it’s filling up quickly!

The new laptop is an Asus and if you’re familiar with Asus they come with tons of software and as I said I’m still trying to figure out what it all is … like smart login manager, and asus multiframe, asus access, asus, ap bank .. Clicking on the programs has gotten me into trouble once or twice so I think i’ll do internet searches on them first to figure out what they are. LOL I just wish there was a better explaination somewhere on the computer as to what all this special Asus variety software was about.

Oh and there’s a built in webcam. I’ve never had that before on a laptop or desktop. Trouble is .. again, I can’t find anything about how to control it. There’s barely anything written about it in the manual. Odd. Anyway .. once I figure it out I can use it for Conference calling on Skype with my friends and family. I’m certainly looking forward to that! Actually maybe if I just download and set up the Skype software perhaps the webcam will work? Probably. I guess I should test it while I can still return the laptop huh? I mean, if it didn’t work …

Ok back to finding out what other fun stuff is on my laptop …

Sure signs of spring

by The Diva

Just in the last week or two they’ve started saying on the news that we’re supposed to brace ourselves for a colder and longer spring than usual. Now that’s depressing news since we’re just coming out of a colder winter than we’ve had in years.

The trouble is … I don’t quit believe the weather men.

Two weekends ago as my husband and I were driving in the countryside we noticed flocks of birds flying overhead. They were flocks of geese and ducks. Now that was what … February 22 or so? We even used scopes to verify what type of birds were flying overhead.

Then .. last weekend we noticed that the trees, in particular the willow trees, were starting to look fuller. They were still leafless of course since it’s still quit cold here in Toronto, but I think the trees are starting to develop small leaf buds.

Sure signs of spring. I’m certain of it!

Organizing our Remotes and other gadgets

by The Diva

Last weekend my husband and were shopping in Walmart and I happened to be looking for some kind of basket or box to store all the wires, chargers and other accessories that come with our cellphones, iPods and other electronic gadgets in.

We ended up in the Craft area of Walmart and I founds some beautiful wicker baskets that ended up being just what I was looking for. I bought two of them actually … one to store all of our TV, Stereo, CD Player and Home Theater’s remotes in and the other to store all of the above mentioned wires and accessories in. We should be pretty organized now!

I noticed some beautiful fountains while we were in the craft area. The tabletop kind. My husband just loves those for some reason. Maybe as we get closer to his birthday I’ll get him one.

Speaking of remotes and wires and accessories for electronic gadgets .. how do you keep all of those things organized?

I think it’s time to use the Elliptical Machine again

by The Diva

I think it was about four years ago when I bought my elliptical machine. I used it for a while when I first got it, but I started to feel ill (I’m home with a chronic illness) and I had to stop using it for a while. Unfortunately … a while stretched into several years and here I am just getting around to thinking about using it again.

Funny how time flies isn’t it?

The machine is up in one of our spare bedrooms and it’s a big heavy thing. I had to haul it into the right position just so I could use it again. Then … I couldn’t remember just exactly what all the buttons and knobs were for so I went searching for the manual. Luckily I do keep most of the instructions of gadgets and machinery that we buy in one place so it was fairly easy to find. Now I just have to find a few minutes to sit down with the manual so I can learn more about how to use the elliptical to my best advantage.

Actually if I can find some time tomorrow to read the manual again then maybe I can start using the elliptical on Monday … you know, start at the beginning of the week. Even if I only use it two or three times a week that will be better that what I’ve been doing!

Do you have an Elliptical machine or other exercise equipment in your house that you really haven’t been using?

A late, but a good dinner

by The Diva

Wow I’m full! We just finished eating a very late dinner. I made a baked boneless skinless chicken breast, a mix of wild and white rice, peas, and roasted red peppers. We also had a green salad with feta cheese and a raspberry vinaigrette. Yummy.

I think once our TV show if over I’m going to go upstairs and fill up the bath tub, have a half an hour soak and then go to bed. Hmmm … maybe on the other hand, after that big meal perhaps I should be going out for a walk or doing some research on the best fat burners because if we keep eating like that I might need them!

I’m pleasantly full. I just wish we’d eaten earlier. I hate eating so late.
