Just a little bit more Christmas shopping to do

by The Diva

I’m planning to go shopping this weekend for the last of the Christmas gifts that I need to buy.

I didn’t buy too many gifts this year. We don’t have any extra money, but of course we still have to get a few gifts for the kids in the family at least. I was thinking that one of my nephews might like an iPod. I already checked and he doesn’t have one yet, so it would be the perfect gift. I spent some time earlier today reading an ipod shuffle review and I’m pretty sure that I’ll get him an iPod Shuffle.

Now that I think of it the iPod and maybe just a few DVD’s or Video games and I should be finished all my shopping. If I’m lucky perhaps my shopping trip this weekend will only take an hour or so.

Helping a friend with insurance choices

by The Diva

A friend of mine is starting to look for life insurance coverage and she knows that my husband and I were looking into life insurance policies recently so she asked me to check out a few of the insurance websites that she found interesting.

One of the websites was called ComeToBarter.com and while I only took a short peek at the site I thought it was one of the better sites that she’d sent me to as far as insurance coverage goes.

It’s hard for me to tell my friend what company or policy might suit her best as i think insurance is a personal choice.

I have a lot of shopping to do this weekend

by The Diva

If I’m going to do any shopping this weekend it has to be on Saturday. Why? Well, we’re expecting a huge snowstorm on Sunday and Monday and I have a feeling that driving conditions will be pretty bad on Sunday, so I think it’s best that if we need to get out and do anything we’d better do it on Saturday.

So … tomorrow is shopping day. Man I have a lot of stuff to get and I have to pack it all into one day too!

I need to get some Christmas presents for the younger kids in my family, and I’ve been doing a lot of baking lately so I need to get some cooking supplies like uh … chocolate chips, flour, vanilla and things like that.

I also need to find the time to buy some clothes. I need new clothes and I’ve needed them for a few months now. Ever since I started losing weight in September I’ve needed new clothes. I’ve gained a few pounds back in the last few weeks but I’m still about 10 pounds lighter than I was in the summer and that means my current clothes are still loser than they should be. I could use a new pair of apple bottom jeans if I can find them on sale.

Hopefully with all that I have to do this weekend I’ll find time to get a little clothes shopping in, but I’m not sure that I’ll get around to that.

What are your plans for the weekend? Are you expecting bad weather this weekend too?

Time to get out the Christmas Decorations?

by The Diva

We got our first real snow fall here in Toronto this week. I guess we have a few inches of snow on the ground and we expect more to come before the week is over. I guess we’re lucky compared to some areas near us who happened to get several feet of snow!

I think the snow actually made me have a bit of the Christmas spirit earlier today. We haven’t decorated the house for Christmas for about 6 years, but earlier today I seriously thought about pulling out our Christmas tree, Christmas decorations, the garland, lights, and of course our Christmas wreath.

Who knows .. maybe this weekend I’ll dig out all of our decorations and start putting some of them up. It’s been years since we’ve decorated so it would be a big change, but a nice one if we do it.

Enjoying Burn Notice

by The Diva

I don’t know why, but we’re really behind on Burn Notice in Canada. My husband and I just finished watching the end of Season one. I think in the US they’re on season four … so yeah, we’re kind of behind.

Thankfully we’re aren’t that behind on most shows! That would be a drag!

I wasn’t sure that I’d like the show when we first started watching it this fall, but it grew on me. My husband really likes it. I think it’s all the fight scenes. Man those guys must be on muscle building supplements or something to keep in shape for all the action scenes!

The good news about the show is that Showcase (the Canadian equivalent of Showtime) is going to air season two of Burn Notice in January. Maybe there’s some hope that we’ll catch up before 2011 is over!
