Steps to clearer skin

by The Diva

Yesterday I told you about how my skin has been suddenly breaking out in blemishes. It’s been happening for at least a month, maybe longer.

I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out why I’m suddenly having a skin problem when I’ve never really had an issue before and the only logical reason I can come up with is that it must be either hormonal acne or a side effect of my new medication.

I figure it’s one of the two. Either way … as of last night I started a new skin care regime. Every week I’m going to do a deep skin cleaning, and each day I’ll use gentle but thorough cleansing products on my skin and follow them up with moisturizers.

I drink lots of water and eat fairly healthy so I don’t think there’s much I can change diet wise that will help. Any other suggestions?

What a great view

by The Diva

Earlier today I wrote a post on my other blog about how I was enjoying some eye candy just outside my house.

It was kind of funny to be able to see some great looking guys working just outside my door. They happened to be putting in an interlocking brick walkway for my neighbors and let me tell you – they worked hard – all day!

The only turn off was that one of them, or at least only one that I noticed happened to have acne on chest so that wasn’t so nice. But hey … it was a hot summer and working out side and sweating probably isn’t the best for the skin so I’ll give the guy a break. He still had a nice face.

Do you ever have people working out side your home? Construction workers or perhaps some people putting a new roof on your neighbors house?

Tingly fresh skin

by The Diva

I’m having a night in – it seems. My husband is out of town tonight. Well – he should be home any minute, but who knows.

To keep myself occupied, and to take care of my skin I decided to give myself an at home facial. I gave myself a facial massage, and then I followed it up with a facial mask for 15 minutes.

Ah – that feels good. My skin is tingly and fresh. Oh and squeaky clean. Then, to top things off I followed my facial up with a good moisturizer. Now as I wait for my husband to get home I’m reading about wrinkle creams and treatments. If you want you can learn more by reading this site too.

Now if my husband ever gets here we can watch Glee! I hope he’s not too tired when he gets home.

Problem skin?

by The Diva

I can’t believe that I’m starting to have skin problems at my age.

I’ve always had very clear skin, except the occasional blemish around the time of my period of course. However, even then it would usually only be one or two small spots on my face that I think only I really noticed. Nothing bad.

Now I seem to be having more break outs. They’re still not bad bad – but you know, you get to a certain age and you expect to say good bye to skin problems – not start having more of them.

I think that I’m going to have to start looking around and do a little research on the best acne products for my skin type and then experiment a little bit to see what works.

For the women out there … Did you find that once you hit your late 30’s or early 40’s that your skin suddenly had blemishes again?

Feels good to have short hair again

by The Diva

I’ve been dying to get my hair cut for the last two weeks. I tried to get it cut last weekend but my regular hair dresser was off sick so I decided to wait until she came back.

Earlier today my husband and I called our regular hair salon to make an appointment and we found out that our regular hair stylest wasn’t working there anymore. She’s sick and probably won’t be returning.

By now I really needed a hair cut so I made an appointment with one of the other regular hair dressers that work at the salon and crossed my fingers. It took me a long time to find my last hair dresser so I didn’t have high hopes for today’s hair cut .. but low and behold I’m fairly happy with my hair cut. Of course, I’ll have to see how things go when I style my hair myself, but I think this cut might be better than my old hair dressers cut.

When we got to the salon we had to wait for about 15 minutes. I spent some time looking through magazines and amusing myself with a how to lose belly fat fast pamphlet that someone must have left behind.

My husband got his hair cut my a different hair dresser and he was happy with his hair cut too.

I think our neighbors think it’s funny when my husband and I get out of the car with brand new hair cuts. Maybe it is funny that we get our hair cut at the same time, but hey, it’s convenient for us to do it at the same time.

Anyway, I’m happy that my hair is short again and easy to style. It really needed that cut!
