Can’t go back to school full time – try an online degree

by The Diva

So many companies have either closed down or laid off employees in this poor economy that it’s no wonder that more people have been taking courses and returning to school in order to either better their current education or start a new career.

Unfotunately it’s quite difficult to go back to school if you have children and or if you still need to have some kind of income to pay the bills while you improve your education at college. Thankfully there’s a new way to gain an online degree. I’m talking about Western Governors University.

WGU is an online University that offers accelerated courses and their programs are accredited. It is also quite a respected University serving over 14,000 students.

Western Governors University offers a wide range of programs. You could look into getting a masters degree online in a number of professions such as Business Management, Humane Resources Management, Marketing Management, Information Technology Management or Accounting just to name a few.

WGU also offers courses at their online Teachers College, and in Information Technology and in the health care field.

If you’ve been laid off work and have been thinking of either changing your career or improving your education so that you will be sought after in your field do take a moment to have a look at WGU.

Any suggestions for hooking up our Wii to our new thin plasma TV?

by The Diva

We got a new plasma TV last weekend and after spending a few hours hooking up our DVD player, DVD recorder, cable box PVR, cd player and home theater we found that we were at a loss as to how to hook up our Wii to the new TV.

Our TV only has one component/composite hookup on the back! My husband somehow piggy backed the DVD player and DVD recorder and hooked them up to the home theater system and then the home theater system has component plugs that go to the TV.

But how are we going to hook up the Wii? We tried plugging it into a few of the open spaces in the back of the home theater system and in a few cases we either got a picture or the Wii sound and once both – but the picture quality was horrendous.

Right now the only way that I can think of to use our Wii is to unhook the current component cables that are in the back of the TV (as Samsung PN50B850) whenever I want to use the Wii. That’s going to suck! Plus if I don’t start working out with my Wii again I might have to start looking for fat loss supplements. LOL

Anyone have any ideas as to how we can hook up our Wii to our mostly HDMI one Component to the back of our Home theater system successfully?

I think Depro Provera messed my body up

by The Diva

I’ve been having a lot of migraines lately. I don’t know why!

I think maybe it’s my hormones. I was on Depro Provera for a year (April 2008 to May 2009) and it seemed to really mess me up. Instead of NOT getting my periods during that year I’d sometimes skip a month but then the next I’d either have my period for a month or keep having weekly periods and spotting.

Once I went off the Depro Provera it seemed that my period got back on schedule fairly quickly again (some women wait a year for their first period after going of Depro) but I’ve been headachey and sometimes getting more frequent periods.

I wonder if I need to go on some type of hormone replacement therapy to get my body back to normal? Maybe a testosterone cream or an estrogen or something? I guess I’d better make an appointment with my doctor and maybe see if she can test my current hormone levels or something.

Anyone else have problems while on Depro Provera or after getting off it?

Teenage Acne problems

by The Diva

My teenage nephew has really bad acne. I guess it’s just one of those teen year complaints combined with the fact that he plays hockey about five days a week. I’m sure all that sweating doesn’t help a kid with acne problems.

I’ve been looking into various acne treatments for my nephew and I discovered one called skin id. Does anyone have any experience with this product? Does it work?

I’d love to help him out. It won’t be long before summer comes along and I’m sure he’d love to have clear skin again by then.

I need to find a good under eye cream

by The Diva

Earlier today I wrote a post on one of my other blogs ( My World) about how I haven’t been taking care of my skin as good as I should be.

I have fairly good skin and thanks to good family genes everyone in my family tends to look at least ten years younger than their actual age … but still, I think I should start using moisturizer regularly again.

Yes I’ve slacked off in the last few years. I used to use moisturizer daily but now that I’m home pretty much all the time I just don’t use it and my skin seems dry and dare I say even a little bit dull?

I have some good day and night moisturizers but now I’m trying to find the best under eye creams. I don’t get enough rest because I just don’t sleep well, so I often have dark circles under my eyes. I know that a good under eye cream can help.

Do any of you know of any good under eye creams that will not only moisturize, protect the delicate skin under the eye and also help to eliminate dark circles under the eye?
