Canada goes for the Gold this Wednesday

by The Diva

Good news – did you watch the World Junior Hockey Championship games earlier this evening? Canada and the US were playing and the US was defending it’s title.

Well .. unfortunately for the USA, they lost the game and now, the Canadians are going to play Russia on Wednesday night for the gold. I’m sure all three teams will walk away with hockey trophies.

If you can’t tell – I’m Canadian … so I’m rooting for our team to win the gold but of course I’m happy even if they only win the silver.

Go CANADA!!!!!

Enjoying Burn Notice

by The Diva

I don’t know why, but we’re really behind on Burn Notice in Canada. My husband and I just finished watching the end of Season one. I think in the US they’re on season four … so yeah, we’re kind of behind.

Thankfully we’re aren’t that behind on most shows! That would be a drag!

I wasn’t sure that I’d like the show when we first started watching it this fall, but it grew on me. My husband really likes it. I think it’s all the fight scenes. Man those guys must be on muscle building supplements or something to keep in shape for all the action scenes!

The good news about the show is that Showcase (the Canadian equivalent of Showtime) is going to air season two of Burn Notice in January. Maybe there’s some hope that we’ll catch up before 2011 is over!

Black Friday shopping trip cancelled

by The Diva

Well I was supposed t be in a car with my friends probably sitting in a long line of cars waiting to get over the boarder to the US by now … but uh that’s not going to happen.

My friends and I were going to drive into the US this evening so that we could take advantage of some Black Friday sales, but one of them can’t go now and we decide to cancel the trip.

So now I’m just sitting at home watching a rerun of Flashpoint on TV with my husband. I love that show. The police snipers are up on a roof top right now looking through their rifle scopes at a kidnapper. Tense. I’m always on the edge of my seat with that show. I hope they return with new episodes in the new year!

Anyway … if any of you are taking advantage of Black Friday sales I hope that you’re successful and get some good deals. Stay safe!

My husband is watching Oprah?

by The Diva

OMG … I have my husband doing something I never thought he’d ever do – he’s watching Oprah!

I usually don’t watch Oprah either (I think I’ve seen 3 episodes in my life GASP), but I happened to notice that Lisa Marie Presley was being interviewed on Today’s show and that she’d be talking about how she felt about the death of Michael Jackson and her marriage to him, so I taped it.

My husband has been kind of fascinated with a lot of the stuff that’s gone on since Michael Jackson died last year so when he saw what I taped this afternoon it was his idea to watch the show. That shocked me! I thought he’d rather read hydroxycut reviews than watch Oprah … but he’s watching the show with few complaints – so far.

Ok I’d better go – I want to see this interview.

A lazy weekend

by The Diva

We’re just having a lazy weekend. We’ve been so busy over the last couple of weeks- traveling and having visitors stay over … it’s nice to try and have a quite weekend.

I say try … because it didn’t exactly work out that way. My husband wanted his cousin (who’s a manager at a Mercedes dealership) to check out our car so earlier this afternoon we took a drive out to his house and let him take the car out for a drive on the highway. Oh and we also took a trip to Costco while we were at it.

Our car got a passing grade from my husbands cousin. It handles well and he couldn’t find any problems with it. Good news!

When we first arrived at Costco I thought it was a mistake going there on a Saturday … we had to line up with our cart just to get in! I thought about looking for the nearest exit signs once I got in there it was so crowded! However, once we started shopping (I headed to the pharmacy first while they went to get some food) it went fast and when we were finished there was hardly anyone in line at the cash registers so I think we were in and out of Costco in half an hour. It might have been our fastest visit yet!

So far we have no plans for tomorrow and I like it that way. I think I’m going to sleep in and then maybe later in the day we’ll watch some movies. Like I said – it’s a lazy weekend!

What are you up to this weekend?
