The Signs Of Menopause

by The Diva

Signs Of Menopause Video

It has been estimated that the average menopause age in the Western world is 51 years.  The typical age range for the first signs of menopause is between the ages of 45 and 55.  If the last period occurs between the ages of 55 to 60 this is known as a “late menopause”. When a woman experiences “Early menopause” this is when the final period occurs between the ages of 45 to 50.  The word menopause literally means the cessation of monthly cycles or
menstrual cycles, from the Greek roots meno (month) and pausis (a halt).

Once signs of menopause start to occur the periods are usually very erratic and it can take several months or years of this type of cycling to completely cease.  This makes pegging down an actually menopause age difficult.

The average menopause age in the Western world is 51 years.  The typical age range for the first signs of menopause is between the ages of 45 and 55.  When the last monthly cycle occurs between the age of 55 to 60 this is known as a “late menopause”. If a woman’s final monthly cycle ends sometime between the ages of 45 to 50 this would be considered an “early menopause” .  The word menopause literally means the cessation of monthly periods or menstrual cycles, from the Greek roots meno (month) and pausis (a halt).

Once signs of menopause begin the monthly cycles are usually very random and irregular, it can take several months or even up to a couple of years for this type of cycling to subside. We can only estimate but not give someone an exact menopause age.

The time leading up to the last monthly cycle ever is referred to as premenopause. This describes the menopause age when the levels of reproductive hormones have started to decrease and the periods have started to become irregular, and the signs of menopause and hormone withdrawal may have begun.

Postmenopause is described at the time that follows the point when a woman’s ovaries have become inactive.  This menopause age or stage takes place after a woman’s final monthly cycle and most signs of menopause seem to have subsided.

Once a woman has gone one full year with no flow at all, not even any spotting, and she still has her uterus, she can be said to be postmenopausal. When a woman reaches that point, she is one year into postmenopause.  This is the Menopause Age most women look forward to.  A woman who has her ovaries removed will immediately be in “surgical menopause”.

The menopause age and signs of menopause are a natural life change, not a disease state or a disorder. The transition itself can be challenging for a number of women, but for others it may not be as difficult, but all will experience some signs of menopause.

Easy Breast Cancer Awareness Information

by The Diva

If you are currently experiencing breast cancer sysmptoms, it is imperative to consult your doctor for tests. Everyone does not experience the same breast cancer symptoms because it varies so much from one person to the next. While some may be experiencing all the common symptoms others may not.

There are a variety of breast cancer symptoms, such as bloody or clear leakage from the nipple, that may happen if a palpable lump is forming. Some women may also experience a deforming change in the size or shape of the breast or nipple. This can be in the form of dimpling or other such indentations.

Breast cancer symptoms can be confused with the natural state of the breast at certain points in a woman’s menstrual cycle. For example, a woman may have swollen and sore breasts during her cycle due to normal hormone fluctuations. This is not necessarily a symptom of breast cancer. If you have not experienced this type of symptom and are worried, schedule an examination with your doctor.

The first symptom of breast cancer for many women is a lump in their breast. In 9 out of 10 breast lumps, 90% are benign. That means they are not cancers. Most benign breast lumps are areas of benign breast change, causing lumpiness that is more obvious just before a period, particularly in women over 35. these are more likely to be cysts – sacs of fluid in the breast tissue. These are quite common collection of fibrous glandular tissue. These are more common in younger women.

When diagnosed, understanding the type of breast cancer you have is essential to determining your treatment options.Breast cancer classification is determined by cellular type by means of a tissue sample, which is a simple biopsy, as well as the location of the cancer. This cancer is considered early-stage breast cancer-some doctors will refer to it as a “pre-cancerous” condition. It will often appear on a mammogram as small, white specks of calcium-it is important to realize that most calcification are not cancer. If it is left untreated it can in time develop into invasive breast cancer.

Once breast cancer has advanced, the symptoms can include pain in the chest or breast bone, ulcerations or sores on the skin, swelling and soreness of the arm on the side of the breast cancer, weight loss, and loss of appetite. Once the cancer has progressed to these stages, it becomes harder to treat. The best diagnosis and breast cancer information will come from your doctor, so it’s important to discuss any new or unusual symptoms as they’re discovered. There may be weight loss and a loss of appetite as well. As breast cancer moves into these stages, treatment becomes more and more difficult. The finest diagnosis and breast cancer information is going to be what your doctor tells you. Consequently, be sure to talk over anything which may seem different about your health and discuss your current breast cancer symptoms with your doctor just as soon as you become aware of them.

Stopping Headlice Re-infestation

by The Diva

It’s one thing to employ proper headlice treatments when an outbreak occurs, but what about the cleanup? As with most pests, head lice cannot survive extreme heat. So, the best course of action in cleaning them out of your home is to dry everything that you can fit into your clothes dryer. This is great for stuffed animals, rag dolls, bedding, pillows, all sorts of clothing including towels, washcloths, etc. A timed cycle of around 15-30 minutes should do the trick.

I’m sure you have heard the suggestion that putting your clothing or stuffed animals into sealed plastic bags will suffocate head lice. This is not the case. More likely, by putting them into plastic bags the lice die of starvation. But there is a chance that doing this will not kill the lice and therefore a re-infestation can occur. This is not the case with putting articles into a high heat dryer for 30 minutes.

Obviously not everything will fit in your dryer. So, for things like carpeting and furniture, it’s best to vacuum everything thoroughly. Be sure to throw away the vacuum bag inside a sealed garbage sack, or empty the debris container for bagless vacuums, and remove it completely from your house. An outside garbage can is best.

There is no need to vacuum for 30 minutes in one concentrated area of course. A few times over the area will do fine.

You may also want to try creating your own “natural” repellent spray that can be made by using an average sized plastic spray bottle with about 20 drops of 100% Tea Tree Oil and water. Lice, among other pests such as ticks and mosquitoes, do not like the smell of Tea Tree Oil, and so it is a terrific choice for a repellent.

Once you have your mixture, simply begin spraying it on your furniture and carpeting. You needn’t over-spray and completely saturate your furniture. Lightly spraying will do the trick.

Of course, while this guide is for “natural” remedies, if you still feel unsafe about the conditions of your household items where lice can survive for a few days, then you can use a de-licing spray. But this is solely at your discretion. Vacuuming should work just as well. I hope these tips will help you in the future should you find an outbreak in your family.

Identifying the Early Signs of Menopause aka Perimenopause

by The Diva

First Symptoms of Menopause

Menopause has been the butt of many jokes not only from comedians but also from women themselves who are either going through it or negatively are anticipating it. The bottom line is that it all boils down to the fact that different bodies will exhibit different first symptoms of menopause. Some women will experience every known symptom attributed to “the change” while other women will experience few if any symptoms other than a lack of menstruation.

There are certain early menopause symptoms that you will notice and these could occur in a greater or even lesser degree depending on your individual case, and if you are lucky, you could escape with just the barest symptoms, though in other instances the symptoms could be pretty severe causing a lot of distress and anxiety to the affected person.

If you normally experience pre-menstrual symptoms like cramps and mood swings, chances are that these symptoms will worsen as time gets closer to menopause. Other early signs of menopause include irregular periods, tenderness of the breasts, sleeping problems and fatigue. In terms of sex, your libido may decrease and there may be some pain during sex due to vaginal dryness.

Urinary problems may also be early signs of menopause but should always be checked out by a doctor to re-affirm the cause. Frequent need to urinate, development of a urinary tract infection and even leakage of urine when sneezing, coughing or exercising can also be attributed to perimenopause.

Countless problems with your bladder and vagina are also among your first signs of menopause as your hormone levels fluctuate. The vaginal dryness may be an issue and sex could become painful as the skin thins out and surrounding areas becoming more sensitized. In addition, urinary problems count as some of the first signs of menopause due to that same thinning of the skin, in this case, the bladder. Some muscle tone in the bladder may be lost as well due to hormonal changes attributed to menopause.

The first signs of menopause are quite a bit to handle but many of them gradually present themselves as a way to ease into the transition.  These signs can also include mood swings, fatigue, sleeping problems and even changes in your body like not being able to lose weight as easily as you once could.

The actual event itself will likely come with little fanfare as you have been experiencing the early signs of menopause for years. You are in true menopause when you have not had a period for at least one year. Of course, those symptoms will likely continue for a while longer past the perimenopausal stage. The real kick in the pants comes with the fact that you can still get pregnant while still exhibiting the early signs of menopause. As long as you are still having periods, that means you are still ovulating and thereby there is always a small chance of pregnancy.

Keep The Motivation on your Wedding Day Diet

by The Diva

You may be thinking that if you have some weight to shed before your wedding day that you’d be quite justified in getting all stressed-up and worried. It’s not at all unusual for prospective brides to want to lose a few pounds to get into their wedding dress. Or they may just believe that the skinnier they are, ther better they will look. This is wrong by the way.

OK, we don’t want to be overweight at our wedding, but there’s no need to go mad and put ourselves on a starvation diet. You require what we call a wedding day diet. Everyone knows that if you simply stop eating your body recognises the lack of food going into the digestive system and begins to slow down your metabolism. The result is that your body burns fewer calories per day but you get the concomitant side effects of tiredness and general feeling of lethargy. When you are finally building up to the big day, then you certainly don’t need that. There is generally an awful lot to do in the run up to any wedding and you’ll need all the energy you can muster and that’s why a wedding day diet is so important.

What better asset could you wish for than the motivation of just knowing that your wedding is on the horizon and that you NEED to look good for it. With the motivation provided by your wedding day, the wedding day diet is leaps and bounds ahead of the others because it’s tailored to take advantage of this once in a lifetime situation.

Now, as you have probably discovered for yourself, it’s all down to motivation. But with all the pressures of today’s day to day business, it’s not always easy to keep that motivation going. Look around you (figuratively speaking) – everywhere we look there are candy bars, snacks, snax, take-aways, food to go,…. it’s everywhere. When food was nowhere near as pleniful as it is now, putting on a few pounds before your wedding was never an issue, but nowadays, we have lots of parties and celebrations as our wedding day approaches and it’s very easy to put on the pounds when we should be losing them.

Fear not, however. There are, thankfully, specially developed wedding day diet programs that are meant to shift those pounds as quickly as possible and keep them shifted too. Until now, dieting advice tended to focus on particular individual foods. e.g. the cabbage soup diet. Or the rice water diet. I’ve never heard such nonsense. If cabbage soup doesn’t exactly get your taste buds tingling (has anyone ever had cabbage soup?) then a diet of that kind would never work for you in a month of Sundays. And this wedding day diet shows you how to eat healthily and slimmingly (if that’s a word!) without relying on single foods.

Then there was all that points business. Two points for an apple and er.. how many points for a cookie, I’d better look it up in my book. Who the hell wants to keep calculating and recalculating their running total and checking each snack bar to see if it’s allowed under the remaing number of points for the day. The wedding day diet doesn’t use a points system.

Today things are a lot more sophisticated, they are also a lot easier to handle during a busy day and consequently much more effective. The wedding day diet program (a review of which can be found here) prepares tailor made meal plans based on the foods that YOU specify, making the whole experience much more enjoyable (and doable) for you. You put yourself in charge of your daily food intake. and giving you the control improves your chances of success hugely.

So don’t be worried – if you have the motivation that only an approaching wedding day can give you and if you’re enjoying what you’re eating and losing weight at the same time then you can hardly fail, can you?

By far, the best wedding day diet on the market is Strip That Fat, a modern wedding day diet plan that can help you to lose ten pounds in just fourteen days. If you read this review, you will probably come to realize that now is the best possible time to get started on your wedding day diet and stop worrying.
