5 Amazing iPhone Accessories Everyone Should Have

by Trish

It doesn’t matter what version of the iPhone you have. We all know your phone is your pride and joy and you spent quite a deal of hard-earned money on it. That said, you should protect your investment and do all that you can to maximize the way you’re able to use it. The following accessories will both protect your iPhone and take your use to the next level.

Finishing Screens

If your screen becomes scratched or cracked, you’ll have a hard time using your phone. Generic has made an anti-glare, anti-scratch, anti-fingerprint matte finishing screen protector that is guaranteed to keep your investments safe. Priced around $.60 each, or under $1 for a package of three, there is no reason to go without ordering a whole bunch to keep your phone safe. Now you won’t have to worry about your keys, items in your pocket or purse, or the harsh ground damaging your phone.

Docking Cradles

Want to charge your phone and still use it to listen to music or play games at the same time? A Charging Dock Cradle will allow you to charge your phone will maintaining its audio output so that you can sync your phone to your PC, play games, and use whatever other functions you need while you’re sitting at your desk and getting things done.

Protective and Customized Cases

If you have an iPhone, you should have a case for it – no exceptions. There’s nothing quite like the horror of watching your cell phone slip from your hands and shatter into several pieces on the pavement. If you’re lucky, you can put them back together and have a working phone. If not, you’ll end up with a cracked screen or damaged parts that won’t go back together again. A protective case, especially the rubber ones, will prevent your phone from falling apart or getting seriously damaged when it hits the ground. You can spruce things up a bit by opting for customized iPhone cases in various colors or with your favorite designs.

USB Car Charger
Most of the iPhones are designed to plug into a USB port for charging. If you want to make sure your phone remains charged on the go, invest in something like the GTMax Mini USB Car Charger and plug the USB cord right into it. You’ll never run out of battery power again, no matter how long you’re on the road.

Windshield/Dashboard Mount

What good is the GPS function on any phone if you can’t actually see or hear the directions you’re being given? Items like the Arkon IPM515 Windshield/Dashboard Mount make it easy for you to mount your iPhone on the car’s dashboard on on the windshield. This is great not only for GPS functions, but for allowing you to use speakerphone in areas where hands-free cell phone use is a must.

While your iPhone was a pretty significant investment, most of the items above will only cost you a few dollars – well worth the expense to protect your most functional piece of technology.

I Have to get a new TV

by The Diva

I just discovered that the TV in one of my spare bedrooms upstairs doesn’t work very well. I guess I’m going to have to replace it sometime soon.

It’s an older TV. A small 13 inch TV. It used to be my mother’s and I inherited it, and put it in our spare bedroom. I have it mounted on the wall, so it’s high up and you can watch it from bed.

I suppose now if I’m going to replace the TV I’ll replace it with a flat screen of course I’ll have to replace the wall mount, which means I’ll also have to look at flat screen TV mounts as well. I have an old TV in my bedroom, I think it’s a 20 inch, it doesn’t work very well either. Maybe I can find a deal and replace both TVs at the same time with flat screens. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Of course these new TVs and wall mounts will have to wait until there is a little bit of extra money which of course there is no extra money right now. I don’t know when there will be. I’m sure it will be a little while before these changes happen.

Getting a new Desktop Computer

by The Diva

Some time in the near future I want to get a new computer. I have a great laptop computer … well if it keeps working for me, I’ve had some problems with the laptop that have caused me to have to wipe it a couple of times.

My desktop computer is getting old and while it still works well I’d like to replace it sometime in the near future. I like having a desktop computer as a backup computer. Perhaps a h8-1010 hewlett packard canada computer. I was looking at one of those the other day.

I’ve found that it’s getting harder to find desktop computers in stores. Not so hard online, but in stores it’s harder. Why I don’t know .. I know laptops are convenient but desktops are still more powerful or at least that’s what I’ve found unless you drop a ton of money on a laptop. What do you think?

Trying to fix a digital camera

by The Diva

I have three digital cameras. I really only use one of them as the other two are older models. Actually, now that I think of it I suppose I can say that I have four digital cameras if you count my mobile phone as it has a camera on it that’s 8 megapixels and it really does take quite decent pictures.

Anyway … the other day I was speaking with my sister and we talked about going out one weekend to take photographs around the city. My sister used to be an artist but because of recent health problems she really hasn’t been sketching or painting so I suggested that she might be able to express herself through photograph and she seemed to like that idea.

This past weekend I pulled out one of my older digital cameras – a Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 and I discovered that it had a problem. At first, once I’d put in new batteries, the LED screen would flash on for a moment with the message – “Lens cap still on” – and I’d remove the lens cap and the power would go off on the camera. The lens wouldn’t extend out or move in anyway and the LED screen wouldn’t come on with the lens cap off and it wouldn’t do much with the lens cap on either.

After a lot of research on the internet I finally discovered a a page that suggested that I plug in the cameras AV connection so that the LED screen wouldn’t turn on when I pressed the power button and that that would give more power to the lens motor. I tried it and the lens extended but then the power shut off again and I couldn’t get it to retract! I’d read on several pages to try tapping the lens or gently twisting it to the right to get it retract so I tried that many times and after two days of trying the lens went back in .. but still, the led screen won’t work. Now I’m thinking that it might be one of the retaining rings or the internal battery in the camera.

OR … I just don’t know … maybe I won’t get this camera working again. I’d like to. It took great pictures and it was an expensive camera back when I originally bought it. It would be nice to get some more use out of it or at least to see if my sister might enjoy photography as much as I do.

If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this cameras lens and led screen problem I’d love to hear your suggestions. I really don’t want to take it to a camera store or back to Sony as that would probably be very expensive.

Exploring all the new features on my cellphone

by The Diva

I was playing around with my cellphone the other day. I had uploaded some pictures and videos that I had taken onto my computer from the cellphone and then I noticed that there was a major software update for my phone. So … I spent some time updating the software and then updating it some more. Luckily everything went ok!

Naturally once everything was updated I decided to explore all of the new features that were now on my cellphone. It’s a Nokia N8 BTW and it just got Symbian Anna. I know there’s yet another update that some people are getting but it’s not in my area yet.

The new maps are very cool so I decided to try them out when I was walking the dog. It was a very cold day so the gps was a little slow calculating my route when I made turns that it didn’t anticipate but otherwise it worked great. I really hadn’t used that feature or the maps for driving before, but I should because, well with this phone I don’t need a separate GPS navigation device.

Now I want to find new apps to download onto my phone. I was looking at an app that’s similar to Instagram earlier today that I might put on my phone. Watch my tweets for some cool pictures soon!

Have you investigated all of the cool features on your smartphone? There’s just so much stuff isn’t there?
