I think I’m finished shopping

I think I finished my Christmas shopping. Yup. Yesterday my husband and I did a final round of shopping – scrambling around to several stores trying to find a few last minute or hard to find gifts. I think we’re finish or at least I hope we are!

It seems like we bought more gifts for my family this year than his, but I guess in years past it’s often been the other way around so fairs fair. Now I have a dinning room table loaded with presents waiting to be wrapped – books, a nice blanket, tillman gloves, lovely skin care items, clothing, gourmet treats and many other special gifts. I’m pretty sure everyone will like what we bought.

Keeping my home or not?

I’m not sure that I’ll be able to call myself the Home and Garden Diva for all that much longer. I have a lot of things happening in my life lately and because of these things it seems that in a few months I might not have a garden or a home any longer. It will certainly be hard to go with the name if I don’t have those two things anymore now won’t it?

Oh don’t worry I won’t be homeless … I’m thinking the house will end up sold. Maybe I’ll buy a motor home and just travel? Of course then I’ll need motorhome insurance and I’ll have to buy gas … but that still might be cheaper than keeping a house? Maybe .. I’ll be the Nomadic Diva?

Anyway I’m hoping things don’t change because I love my home, garden and life the way it was but who knows …

Too skinny?

Over the last month or so I’ve noticed that my husband has lost quite a bit of weight. Not that he really needed to lose weight. Oh sure just about everyone can stand to lose five or ten pounds, but about a month ago I started thinking .. geez he’s getting pretty skinny … I started to get worried that he was losing too much weight.

It’s not like he’s been trying to lose weight or that’s he’s found the best weight loss pill ever or anything … I think he’s just been walking a lot more lately and just eating a little less. Nothing too drastic – but it suddenly started to show – fast.

We were in a store earlier today and someone that worked with my husband at the hospital but hadn’t seen him in a while came up to us and made a big deal out of how skinny my husband looked. He actually said it made my husband look older … maybe that will make him eat a bit more? LOL

Anyway .. hopefully my husband doesn’t keep losing weight or I’m going to think something is seriously wrong with him.

I love special sales

I love getting notices for special sales. I’m signed up with a few of my favorite businesses to get their regular sales newsletters and their special newsletters. I absolutely love it when I get the occasional notice from one of them that their having an Employee Purchase Program Event or a Midnight madness sale or special bargains that you’ll only know about if you get the newsletter.

Naturally I don’t take advantage of all of these sales because I don’t always need to be out buying things … but it’s good to keep any eye on what’s on sale just in case I need something or in case I have to buy a gift. I always have sales and savings in the back of my mind.

Do you sign up for your favorite department stores sales newsletters so that you can find out when they are having big sales?

Getting ready for the long weekend

My husbands cousin just dropped by for a visit. He works in a car dealership and repair shop so he’s always driving a new car. Perks of the job. Must be nice, eh!

He was just dropping by for a few minutes to pick something up from our house and check on plans for our big family reunion weekend that’s coming up on Sunday. While he was here he was showing me the latest car that he’s driving. It happens to be an Audi. It’s all supped up – right down to the audi tt custom floor mats that he just got for it. As I said earlier – must be nice!

It seems like every time I talk to someone from my husband family they say they’re going to be at the party on Sunday so I guess it’s going to be quite a big gathering! We’d better get there early to help the in laws! My husband went to their house this past weekend to put up a big outdoor party tent. Hopefully we don’t get any big storms that blow it over before the party!
