Helping relatives move

by The Diva

My husband just left to go and help his cousin and his wife move into an apartment.

I’m not quite sure what happened, but they had a house outside the city and I guess they got into some money troubles and had to sell. Their house was on the market for at least six months and just sold about two weeks ago and now, his cousin is moving back into the city. I’m not exactly sure why their moving so quickly .. maybe their house had a fast closing date?

Anyway .. usually I would help with a move, but I’m just not feeling all that well today. So I’m staying home with our dog and my husband is running around helping with the heavy lifting. Hmmm maybe I got the better deal?

I think my husband’s cousin is going to be changing job soon too. He’s been working for a company that transfers data to microfishe … but I think that’s fazing into digital. He mentioned something about getting into Forex trading the last time I talked to him. I think he bought some Forex trading software and he’s been teaching himself how to use it in his spare time. Maybe he’ll figure out how to make some good money on the side – even if he doesn’t end up changing jobs.

Anyway … it’s a late day move … my husband just left the house at 3 pm! I have no idea when he’ll be home. I also think his aunt is feeding the gang. She mentioned something about making Chili when I was talking to her on the phone. Hmmm … maybe Chris can talk her into letting him bring some of her homemade chili home for me? She apparently makes delicious chili. Of course, it probably won’t sit all that well on my stomach … but then, nothing I eat this week has.

Do you ever go to open houses just to look around?

by The Diva

This past weekend my husband and I decided to go to a few open houses being held at some homes that are up for sale in our neighborhood.

We aren’t thinking of selling our home or moving – not just yet anyway … but we were curious as to how the home owners had renovated and decorated their homes.

One open house we visited was in a home that’s very similar to ours in design. Like us – they had knocked down the walls in the entry hallway, and the walls separating the living room, dinning room and main hallway in order to create an open living room dining room area. The only big difference was that they hadn’t taken out hte stairway hallway as we did. We felt that our main floor looked a little bigger or more open than the home we were in.

Another house that we visited was totally modern – stark white walls, white furnishings and just about everything stainless steel in the kitchen – including the Hansgrohe faucet. The house was a little too modern for my tastes, but I enjoyed looking around.

My husband and I are still renovating our home. Actually our renovations are stalled … so visiting a few open houses might have helped motivate us to finish our renovations and gave me some ideas for how we might decorate once we’re finally done our renovations … well if we ever manage to finish!

Do you ever go to open houses to just look around and get ideas?

How not to sell a house!

by The Diva

Last week our neighbors house, which is for sale (remember the bad renter neighbor stories?) had an open house. Just for the heck of it my husband and I decided to take a peek at the house.

I know the house hasn’t had any renovations … possibly since it was built in 1927 … but we were still curious to see if our neighbors family had decorated the house to prepare it for sale … Uh … the answer is NO. A big no!

The house is mostly empty … which is fine. I don’t think a house necessarily has to be dressed up when it goes up for sale … an empty house can allow prospective buyers to picture their own furnishings in the home.

However I don’t agree with what our neighbors family did. As I said they left most of the house empty, but they put what appears to be office furniture in the living room and dining room.

It just looks … odd.

They also took out all of the appliances! Why? I’m fairly certain that if you’re trying to sell a house for a good price you’re probably more likely to make a sale and get your asking price or higher if you have all the appliances (washer, dryer, fridge, stove etc) in place.

This is definitely an example of how not to sell a house! LOL

I guess it will be a while before we have new neighbors!

Where To Find Internet Based House Deals

by The Diva

There are a number of benefits associated with online home forms and web based house tracking such as free home insurance quotes on line. The primary benefit is obtained with respect to the option to get and review many home owner quotes fast and easily. Plus, because these homeowner price quotes are found online, you save the hassle of storing and arranging all the pieces of paper that you may otherwise have to do. Even more, you could simply find the data (copy the info) from the many mortgage deals and place them in a format (e.g. excel spreadsheet) that makes it easy to compare various deals in a single go.

You can do research on the internet and look at house articles on the internet or you could go through online mortgage education lessons. When you have any questions or queries on mortgages, you may use a respected house owner related online forum to receive internet based home owner help. You can enter your details on a site and discover a few house prices quotes and under an hour.

The Internet has helped bridge knowledge barriers and has made finding things out much faster by home insurance quotes. The Internet has made online home owner applications a choice. Online home price quotes, online house calculators, internet based home tips, online home owner education plans, web based home offer comparisons and online homeowner payment tracking, all are quick and are used by many individuals.

Moreover, there are several webpages that have internet based mortgage calculators free of charge. You may use such online house owner calculators to compare deals from several house owner lenders. These internet based calculators only require some basic details (like interest rate, mortgage loan amount, home owner tenure) about your mortgage and once you give these details you can instantly see the results (again online). You can receive more information on the mortgage offers by using email (ie again online). Online homeowner payments are possible using the internet banking websites. You can even keep track of your amortization schedule by using the web.

Homeowner brokers don’t incur any postage or stationery costs either. In fact, if we did not have this facility of finding the house owner deals on the internet, the home owner lenders would certainly not have provided these quotes at no charge either. Since so many individuals using the internet right now, online home transactions allow the homeowner lenders to get a larger number of leads too (than could have been otherwise available) through on line home owner insurance quote. Yet again, internet based mortgage payment tracking is extremely useful also. You can log-on to the internet at any time and from any location and just check the current status of your house information.

So, online home owner offers have created a huge opportunity both for the house owner lenders and home borrowers. It is verily a good thing for everyone.

Understanding Reverse Mortgage

by The Diva

Reverse mortgages often are a boon to retired home owners. The funds created by getting homeowner insurance quote and selling off some of their home value (to receive the reverse mortgage loan) could aid these old home owners in generating funds for many reasons eg the money thus created could be spent on financing home renovations, or the money can act as an additional retirement income or it might be spent on paying off a current mortgage loan or it may be spent on covering some doctor expense etc.

Moreover, the sums created from reverse homeowner loan is often tax free. What’s more, after you pay off the reverse homeowner loan partly (or in full), the interest part of the loan could qualify for income tax deductions (this further increases the list of advantages from reverse house loans).

Reverse home loans are another good concept in the world of home loans. A reverse home loan is a house loan that functions in the reverse method i.e. you receive payments rather than make payments. With a reverse mortgage, you keep increasing your debt rather than decreasing it.

So a reverse home loan provides you regular payments and as you get this money you build a debt level. But if do you repay the debt that is created through the reverse house loan? Well, the reverse mortgage isn’t needed to be paid back so long as you live in that home plus get free house insurance quote. So, the reverse homeowner loan has to repaid when you either stop residing in the property (whose house value you are using to use the reverse mortgage loan) or you sell the house or you die.

You must check the fees and extra costs related to reverse mortgage loans before you go for one. In fact, you should do a lot of research by requesting reverse mortgage offers from many mortgage loan specialists before you select the one that offers you the greatest returns (as you could for a traditional mortgage). What’s more, because the ownership of the house remains in your name, you would be required to continue paying the property taxes, coverage and other costs that you incur on your property.

Reverse mortgage loans are a choice that is available to older persons generally to persons who are at least 62 years of age. Of course, the concept is that you have enough home equity in the home that you want to use for reverse house loan. Additionally, you might avail of a reverse homeowner loan only if you are residing in the home that you need to get a reverse home loan on.

In conclusion, a reverse property loan is without a doubt a great choice for some senior property owners. For more low cost home insurance quote.
