Time to get the trailer ready for summer travel

by The Diva

It seems like this month is going by so fast! Didn’t it just start? It seems that way to me.

Sometime in June my husband and I are going to take a short trip with our trailer, but before we can do that we need to get our trailer ready for travel. I hate to admit that it’s not in the best shape as it hasn’t been stored all that well. I think my husband said something about us having to replace the curt trailer hitch. I also need to top up all the summer supplies and towels and things like that too.

Do you have a trailer or a summer cabin that you use regularly each summer?

Finding A Discount Flight On The Internet

by The Diva

Many frequent flyers appear to be conversing more about airfare deals and getting the best price at the best possible time to travel. At many different places around the World, ticket prices seem to fluctuate significantly. However, it is possible to fly to many destinations for considerably less than the full standard fare, with the assistance of a good travel agent and a little research.

A key factor to getting a good deal is flexibility. To save money airlines will slot people into empty seats, so if you’re willing to modify your dates to suit the airlines program, then you can benefit on their decision. A hefty cancellation fee will be charged against you by many airlines, if after you have booked your flight, you switch the date.

Cheap airfare deals can be found everywhere you look on the internet. Have a look at a review flight website like Virgin Cheap Travel. There are many airfare reviews of the major airlines helping you find the deal and pice of mind you need when booking.

Frequent flyer usually end up getting the best deals when looking for discount flights. The numerous ‘Frequent Flyer’ programs usually provide incentives for customer loyalty. Usually you will earn points as a regular flyer which can be exchanged for flight tickets of other goods.

The internet is the number one source for finding online deals. Beware of the internet sites that are specializing in selling airline tickets at a discount, they could be legitimate but it is always best to book your flight with known discount agents. {The problem is that people often have a hard time in confirming the legitimacy of these sites before they are committed to making a payment. It is very difficult to tell whether these sites are legitimate or not.} Try telephoning the booking of your flight or even visit their offices if they are local. If the company if of good standing they should have a telephone number on the site. Find out exactly which airline you have booked your flight with, that is important to know.

On a daily basis the number of airline deals are on the increase as competition in the skies increases.

How to Plan Great Romantic Getaways

by The Diva

For some of us, planning a romantic getaway is second nature. Looking for venues, making reservations, and drumming up romantic ideas may come easy for some, but for most of us, planning great romantic getaways can be a daunting task. Where does one start? Maybe you are already thinking of a tropical venue, filled with sand, sun, and expensive chilled drinks. Or maybe you are looking for something more rustic, like a log cabin to reconnect with nature and your significant other.

No matter what you already have in mind, here are some tips that you’ll need in order to make sure that your romantic getaway is restful and enjoyable.

The first thing is to have a budget in mind. It’s too easy these days to just swipe the whole trip on to one’s credit card with reckless abandon, but don’t forget that those bills will be waiting for you once you return. Let’s be realistic. Nobody wants to be paying off their romantic getaway for months or even years after the fact!So try to be modest when planning your romantic getaway.

Next, it’s time to chat with your partner and ask yourselves what you both are expecting on your romantic getaway. This is a point that many couples omit, and often leads to underwhelming romantic getaways. For example, you may prefer the bright lights of the city while your partner craves to be by the countryside for some fresh air. You might be expecting to go out and paint the town red, while your partner is just looking to lounge around in front of the television.

If there is this kind of disparity in both your expectations, it makes enjoying your romantic getaway infinitely more difficult. The moral of the story is to be prepared to have some open and honest communication with your partner and make some compromises. Remember that romantic getaways are about both of you.

Once you know your budget and know what both of you wants to do on your romantic getaway, it’s time to narrow down your options. With your budget in mind, is there something nearby that will meet your needs? Don’t forget that you can also have  a great time with several affordable choices, such as a nearby lake resort or even a campground. A well-planned camping trip can be wonderfully romantic! Also, activities such as canoeing, horseback riding, or biking can be very romantic as well.

If you’re more into the sun and sand of a tropical locale, considering the beaches of Florida or California could save you a bundle compared to Hawaii or Cancun. In today’s economy, it would be wise to consider it as airfare alone would generally be a lot cheaper. Also consider your accommodations for your romantic getaway. Cabin resorts have really improved over the years and even cater to couples and honeymooners. They often offer many of the amenities and luxury of hotels, but are generally a lot cheaper. A bed and breakfast is also an affordable romantic option. If you spend some effort to shop around, you’ll have a great time, and your bank account will thank you.

Being romantic does take work for most of us, and while daunting at first, there are some excellent resources available at Ideal Romantic Getaways (www.idealromanticgetaways.com), which offers more great tips and ideas on planning that perfect romantic getaway.

A Tour Through Valletta

by The Diva

Whether you’re a backpacker, or someone who would rather travel in comfort, Malta won’t blow the budget and gives you great value for money. You’ll find plenty of budget hotels, and the mid range hotels provide great facilities for the price. They are clean, and well presented, and many are located a short distance from the historical city center.

Steeped in history and awe-inspiring examples of architecture, many still in use by the government today, tour the streets where Knights once walked and take in the forts that once withstood the Great Siege by the Turks in 1565. Malta is a beautiful city that easily blends the old with the new. You’ll find top restaurants, and excellent musical and dramatic productions.

Walking Tours In Valletta

If you do go to Malta, you really should take a walking tour in Valetta. The walking tours are either DIY with an ipod recording which you purchase online, or escorted, and show you all the important historical spots in Valletta. You’ll see the Auberge de Castile, Upper Barracca Gardens, and the Palazzo Parisio, amongst others.

For art and history lovers you’ll see fine exhibits of Neo-classic and Roman Baroque architecture, a Renaissance palace and courtyards with bronze statuary, the Grandmaster’s Palace, the Fort St Elmo which was originally built in 1553, and the Archbishop’s Palace built in 1624. As well, while enjoying the Valetta walking tour you’ll find plenty of stops along the way for a strong cup of coffee and delicious pastries. Continuing along Republic Street, you’ll see the Carmelite Church, St. Paul’s Cathedral, National Library of Malta, National Museums of Archeology and Fine Arts and one of the oldest theaters, Manoel Theater, built in 1731 and still in use today. End your walking tour of Valetta, Malta at the Grand Harbor overlooking the waters of the Mediterranean.
