Hassle Free Birthday Fun – How To Throw Your Child A Birthday Party Without Wrecking Your House

by Trish

Some parents love having their homes full of happy, laughing kids and planning fun party games, but for others, the kids’ birthday party can be something of a nightmare. Whether you don’t have the space, get nervous when other people’s children are tearing around all your expensive furnishings, or simply don’t know how to keep a gaggle of children entertained, the idea of having a more professionally organized birthday party for your child on somebody else’s premises can be an appealing one.

Here are some ideas to help you come up with a fun day out or party for your son or daughter and their friends without having to spend weeks covering furniture in plastic and planning games!

A Family Friendly Restaurant

One of the easiest things to do is simply take everybody out to a family friendly restaurant where there are already games and entertainment for the children. This can be really fun for your child because they always make a big fuss of the birthday boy or girl, and if they’ve been to parties like this for their friends, they may well have been just waiting until it was their turn to be the one in the spotlight! These places are very used to dealing with large groups for birthdays, and you will probably just have to reserve an area for your group. However, in some cases you may have to give your food orders in advance from a specific menu.

An Activity

There are all kinds of great group activities you can organize as a birthday party event. Whether it’s going to a water park, bowling, skating, dancing or even something more high octane like go-karting, paint-balling or zip lining (for older children), you can usually get good rates when you book for a group and may get some special gifts or discounts because it is a birthday. Of course, it can be tricky finding an activity all of your child’s friends will like, but the most important thing is finding something your son or daughter really wants to do.

An Organized Event

Depending on the timing of your child’s birthday, you may be able to make a trip with all of their friends to an organized event. Whether it’s a show, a circus, a concert or a sporting event, group bookings can be heavily discounted and there may be some special things thrown in for the birthday boy or girl. Baseball teams especially often give out a lot of great freebies to people (both kids and adults!) who come along on their birthdays, so make sure you make it clear it is a birthday celebration when you make the booking.

Depending on what your child is into, there are fun events going on all year round, so even if they can’t go and see their favourite sports team or a show they want to see because the season is wrong, with some creative thinking you may well be able to give them a really fun and special day by looking out for something appropriate that is going on at the right time.

Very persistent delivery person

by The Diva

Well I think my next door neighbors might be expecting a second child. There’s been a lot of activity at their house over the last couple of weeks and I saw the oddest thing that I ever saw a delivery person do …

A week or so ago a van pulled up in front of our houses. It blocked my driveway. I didn’t see the van pull up and only noticed it after I heard loud knocking at my door. Of course by the time I got to my door the man who’d knocked was proceeding to walk to the neighbors on the right. In his hand he carried a package that looked like it was flowers and maybe baby gifts or something baby related. His van wasn’t marked with any company logos, it was just a plain van … I had thought about opening the door to him to call out to ask what he wanted but since I didn’t even know what company he was from I wondered if it was scam .. especially when I saw that he just kept going from house to house knocking on my neighbors doors.

I guess one of my neighbors many doors down finally opened the door to him and took in the package. The delivery man then walked back to my immediate next door neighbors and left what looked like a note – probably to tell them where he left the package he was delivering.

Wasn’t that strange? I’ve never seen a delivery person so determined to deliver a package. Usually if they can’t deliver they just return the package to the store or to the warehouse and then the customer has to pick it up there or wait until the company tries to deliver it again – right?

Getting Through The Home School Math Curriculum

by The Diva

A lot of us can think back to the days when we were in school and we would complain how there is no possible way we would ever use most of the stuff that was being taught to us. And now that we are adults we can see that we were right all along but we cannot let that judge what we allow our children to sip out on when it comes to education. Too many parents within the home school program allow their children to relax on subjects that they feel the child may never actually us.

The sad thing is though that you never know what your child may end up wanting to go to college for and without the basic knowledge of the home school math curriculum your child could very well be left behind. The basics of the home school math curriculum are pretty easy to learn so you have to just push your child through it because it is important that he or she does not give up. There is nothing wrong with being frustrated over something but you cannot let them learn that it is time to give up when something gets a little rough.

Something To Remember About The Home School Math Curriculum

While they and even you, may feel that they will never use half of the stuff in the home school math curriculum it is important that he or she keeps pushing ahead. The grades that are achieved out of the home school math curriculum is that it could help them get into the college of their choice. If the colleges see that the student always just flunked out of the home school math curriculum then they may not be all that willing to let them into their college and this could prove to be a big problem.

Also the love of math that the child could gain from pushing through the home school math curriculum is something that could be very beneficial to the child in their adult years. So no matter how hard you child tries to stay away from the home school math curriculum you need to make sure that you keep them focused and on the right track. In the end all of your efforts will pay off. After a while, your children will stop complaining and just deal with the work because it will be widely known that you are not going to just cave in and that is a wonderful lesson for him or her to learn.
